Ways To Be More Positive

Having a more positive outlook on life can make such a difference and although some days, it may be harder than others, thinking positive can make you so much happier. When you're making the choices for you and thinking about things in a positive way, then this is the best way that you can look after yourself. Life is too short to have a negative outlook on things, so we may as well make the most of what we have got and try and see things in the best possible light. I decided that it would be a good idea to sit down and write down the ways that I am trying to live a more positive life!

Taking Time For Yourself 

I think that we can often get caught up in our busy lifestyle and trying to make sure that we are always being productive, that we often forget how important it is to take time out to look after ourselves and rewind. Having this time to clear your mind, re-energise and pamper yourself is exactly what we need to feel more positive. I always find that if I plan out a day where I can focus on myself, then I am always feeling in a better mood the next day. I think that a Sunday is the perfect day for this. It allows you to have a lazy day and get's you prepared for the week ahead. The perfect Sunday for me is putting on a face mask, lighting a candle, watching some films and eating some good food. This time is something that I always try and plan in so that I can take some time out for myself and allows me to wind down every now and then. I am quite bad for planning too much in my schedule and always seem to be on the go, so I am making more of an effort to put this time in as I know it has a positive impact on how I am feeling. Everyone will have their own way of taking time for themselves, whether this is going for a run, listening to music, going shopping, having your nails done and the list is endless. As long as we remember how important this time is in order to look after ourselves and remember to enjoy the down time, then this can defiantly have a positive impact. 

Remembering To Be Grateful 

I remember reading a blog post towards the start of the year by Em Sheldon that read 'I know it's so cliche but try and start the day with a grateful mind, if you wake up and feel grateful that you woke up and see today as a new day, I guarantee you'll start it with a spring in your step.' This has been something that I have always remembered and has stuck with me to always think about. Getting caught up on the things that are going wrong in your life is no way to lead a positive lifestyle. If you think about all the things that you have in life and are grateful for, this is the best positive mind set to have. Although some days it may seem like everything is going wrong, I can guarantee there are so many things in your life that you should be grateful for, and remembering these things will put you in a better mood and help you see things in a positive perspective. Trying to flip the negative things around, is the best way to clear your mind and keep going. 

Saying Yes 

I know this one sounds quite simple, but saying yes to things can have a positive impact on your life. This could be saying yes to spending more time with friends and family. I know that this always puts me in a good mood and it's so important to make time for those around you. It could be saying yes to new things that you have never done before or saying yes to new pathways in your life. I think a lot of people find decision making quite difficult, because they are either worried about what others might think or get too caught up on deciding if it is the right decision or not. I believe that if your instinct is to say yes, then you may as well go for it. It may end up being one of the best decisions you have made and even if it was the wrong choice, then you can learn from mistakes and move on. Life is too short to be hesitant all the time, say yes more...the positive impact it could have on you will be so worth it!

Creating Yourself A Positive Environment 

Surrounding yourself with good people is something I have appreciated more and more over the past few years and it really does make a massive difference. If you're surrounding yourself with negative people, then you are really going to struggle to lead a positive lifestyle. It's so important that the people around you are having a positive impact on your life and supporting you all the way. Although you may have to go through some difficult decisions of choosing to remove some people from your life, if you know that it is the best choice for you and will make you so much happier, then that's all the matters. Some people will come and go in life but the most important people will stick around you and come into your life and make an amazing difference. As well as surrounding yourself with good people, I always think that the environment that you live or work in also can have an impact on your outlook on the day. If you are in a messy environment that you're not happy with, then this can instantly lower your mood and not allow you to be productive. If you create an environment that makes you feel happy and calm, then you will always have a positive outlook on the day!

So there we have it, those are just some ways that you can feel more positive! We can all easily get caught up on everything in life, so having these reminders can always be helpful to me to remember to feel positive and change my outlook on a day! I hope this that this post reminded some of you who are struggling with balancing things in life and feeling overwhelmed, to take a step back and think about your outlook and environment for yourself. Brush off the negative aspects of your life, and keep going!
