The Perfect Film Day: Take 2

Today we have blog post number two of the new series that I have started on my blog! This series gives me the opportunity to recommend some films which I really love and hopefully will give you guys some ideas of new films to watch! As you all know, I am a massive film fan so this series was a long time coming for my blog as discussing films that I love is amazing for me. Just like the last blog post, I won't be giving any spoilers, just some basic information on the film and reasons why I think you should go and watch it. I will be covering a mixture of films and recommending 6 films today!

1. The Marvel Superhero We All Needed

As the majority of you will already know, I am a huge Marvel fan! So, I was super excited to see Captain Marvel because it was another film to add to the franchise and most importantly, this film had a leading female character to add to the marvel universe. There are already some amazing female characters in other Marvel films, but we haven't seen a leading character as a female yet! Captain Marvel was one that I have been looking forward to for months and one that I had to start off this blog post with. I have now seen this film a few times in the cinema and I'm hoping to catch it again before it comes out on DVD. This film is all about Carol and her journey when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war. I would highly recommend this film and I think it's one of my new favourites. Brie Larson plays the character so brilliantly and was the perfect choice to play this character. Captain Marvel is a bad ass female leading lady and as you know, these are the best kind of characters in my eyes. The film is funny, full of action, great story line and makes me really excited to see more of Captain Marvel. I was so excited to see more of Captain Marvel in Endgame...I have now watched this on Friday evening and I have no words for this film! An amazing film that I will be discussing in another blog post coming soon!

I think the whole casting for the film was great and I really enjoyed the different story line that it had compared to other Marvel films. There were so many smaller details that were answered in this film that we have been wanting to know for a while and if you are a Marvel fan, you will know exactly what I'm talking about. Even if you haven't seen any other Marvel films, I think you can still go and see this film and the majority of it will still make sense! It's a really great superhero film with lots of action and funny moments in it too. I already knew it was going to be amazing before I had even seen it and it didn't disappoint in any way! This film is currently still out in cinemas so I would recommend going to see it if you haven't already!

2. A Film You Have Already Heard Of But It Couldn't Be Missed

Now I already know that 99% of you will have already seen this film but I couldn't leave it out of these blog posts. A Star Is Born has been one of the biggest films recently and I will happily admit that I went to go see this 3 or 4 times in the cinema alone. After seeing the trailer before it was released, I was excited to go and give this one a watch because I love Lady GaGa and I'm also a massive fan of Bradley Cooper. I don't think I quite expected how much I was going to love this film! The story line, the casting, the soundtrack...everything is so amazing! The film is about Jack who is a well know musician who meets Ally and helps her find her fame. I know that Lady GaGa has already done bits of acting here and there but this was her first big film and leading role. I think she is super talented at singing, songwriting and acting! I was really impressed by her performance in this film and think she was the perfect choice. Bradley Cooper also did amazing and I wouldn't expect anything less from him. I also can't believe that he directed this film as well, he did an incredible job and I find it so interesting when people choose to direct and be a leading character within the film.

The whole story line of this film is so gripping and so relatable to so many people. It cover's so many issues and problems that people are facing on a daily basis and it was so refreshing to see a different style of film. The soundtrack is so unbelievable. I have listened to this constantly after seeing the film and I know so many other people love this soundtrack as well. There isn't one song which I don't like and I think I will be listening to this one forever! I absolutely love the song 'Shallow'. I know this is the main song of the film and it is one of my new favourite songs. It feels really empowering and I love both of their voices. Before this film. I didn't even know that Bradley Cooper could sing so this was an amazing discovery! I love the style of his voice...is there anything these two can't do? A perfect duo for the perfect film!

3. A Classic Film I'll Never Get Bored Of

Now I wanted to include an older film within this blog post and one that I love to watch! The Bounty Hunter stars Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler...two of my favs! This film is all about Milo who is a bounty hunter and he learns that his next target is his ex wife, Nicole. It's a really great action film which is funny and also has a bit of a romantic story line in there as well. These kind of films are always my favourite. If the film is based on a couple but the majority of the film is action based, then 9 times out of 10...I will love it. I think that this duo is a great one for any film and I think they played the characters really well.

I really love the story line as it's quite different to any other couple based film and I think a lot of you will really enjoy this film. I always think that this film is often on TV on a Sunday and I personally think it's a great shout for a Sunday film. If you're looking for a new film to watch, then I would 100% recommend this one as the casting is brilliant and it's such a classic film for me. I don't think I will ever get bored of watching this one!

4. The Perfect Girls Night In Film

This film is one that I had previously seen gifs of on Twitter but never actually seen till last year. I don't know why it took me so long to watch this one as the cast is incredible! This film is called Crazy, Stupid, Love and stars Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and Julianne Moore. This casting for starters is pretty great and you can almost guarantee that it's going to be a good film. This film is about Cal rediscovering his manhood with the help of a new friend, Jacob, after his wife has asked him for a divorce. I think this film is hilarious, has a great story line and is such a classic film for me. I really love the different characters in this film and the casting makes it ten times better. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are already one of my favourite duos in the film world so I knew I was going to love this film.

It's the perfect film for a girls night in and again, a perfect film to watch in bed on a Sunday. I know a few of you will have already seen this film, but I bet there is a handful of you who either haven't got round to watching this yet or didn't even know this film existed. This film is 8 years old, so I am annoyed at myself for not watching this sooner! I watched this some time last year for the first time and have watched it numerous times since then because I think it's amazing and hilarious! Plus...Ryan Gosling is in it...surely that's enough convincing for anyone!

5. One Of My Favourite Films In A Long Time

Last week I purchased a new DVD to add to my collection and is one that I have been waiting for to come out on DVD. This film is another great one to add to the DC franchise! Aquaman is all about Arthur, who is the human born heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. The story is all about him trying to stop a war between the two worlds. Aquaman is played by Jason Momoa who I think is such an incredible actor. He is so sarcastic and hilarious and I couldn't think of anyone else who could of played this role better. He was the absolute perfect fit for this film. The film also includes Amber Heard who I haven't seen before but think she is so talented and Willem Dafoe, Nicole Kidman and lots of other great actors.

This film is based on a superhero and the genre is action...of course I was going to love it! I really loved the story line of this film and the visuals of this film were incredible. I actually watched this film in the new Screen X at Cineworld and it was the best film to try this out with. The visuals of the underwater world were amazing and I really enjoyed it. I loved the funny moments within this film and the sarcasm of the character is great. I watched this a couple of times in the cinema and I am so happy that I now have this within my DVD collection to watch. An amazing film that I would recommend!

6. One That Not Many People Have Heard Of But One That I Always Recommend

Now this last film I wanted to include as nobody seems to know what this is when I talk about it. I watched this film the other night and forgot how much I loved it so I knew it was a good one to include in today's post. This film is called The Island and stars Scarlett Johansson and Ewan McGregor. It's about Lincoln who lives in a futuristic sterile colony who begins to question his existence when his friend is chosen to go to the island, which they know as the last uncontaminated place on earth. I find this one really hard to explain when someone asks me what it's about as I can never make it sound as interesting as it really is! I always say to people that they should watch the trailer or just watch the film as I can assure them that it's great. Again, this is another action film but also has that couple leading characters in it too.

This film has such a different story line to anything else that I have in my collection and I find it so interesting and would love to know how the writers came up with the ideas. This film was released back in 2005 so it is an older film but one that I love. I discovered this film through looking at what other films Scarlet Johansson had been in and thought I would give it a go. I feel like it is a film that not many people know about so thought this may be a useful one to include within this post. A great film to watch if you haven't seen it before and a great cast included!

So there we have it! The second blog post in my new series to the blog. The first one seemed to go down really well so thank you if you gave it a read as it's one I have been wanting to start for a while. I love talking about movies and recommending movies to people, so this is a great outlet for me to do this. Some people have asked me what I am going to do when I run out of films to talk about...trust me I don't think that will ever happen with the amount of films that I own and are continuing to discover new one's on a weekly basis...so no worries there! I hope you are all having a lovely Sunday and I will see you again next week with a brand new post.
