The Perfect Film Day: Take 1

Happy Sunday everyone! Today I am starting a new series on my blog which has been something I have been meaning to do for a while. I always get messages about recommendations of films to watch so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to start a series all about my film choices! As a lot of you will already know, I am a huge film lover and go to the cinema every week. I am always buying and watching new films all the time. I wanted to start this series to share my love for films and give some of you some ideas of what to watch next. I have decided to recommend any films that I currently have on DVD, so this will be including old and new films and mix of genres. As this if the first of the series, if there is anything specific you want me to include or change, then please let me know. I will be including 6 films in each blog post and will be posting these blog posts monthly.

1. The Feel Good Musical

Of course I had to start this blog post with a musical...who doesn't love a musical? La La Land is a film that a lot of people will have heard of! But, surprisingly I know a lot of people who still haven't seen this film yet. La La Land stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone...aka the dream acting combination. I think these two are great in any film that they do together, so when I heard they were starring in a musical, I was very excited! This film is such a feel good film and I agree when people say that they don't make film's like this anymore. It is such a classic and the whole style of the film is different to anything that I have seen in a long time. They are both super talented and I know this is a film that I can watch a million times over. This film is about Mia and Sebastian who are trying to pursue their Hollywood dreams. Mia as an actress and Sebastian as a Jazz musician. I know that this film has won lots of awards and I can 100% see why. Defiantly one to watch if you love a musical and fancy a feel good film. has Ryan Gosling in it, so who wouldn't want to see that!

2. A True Story Film Always Gets Me

This next film is one that I have only just got round to seeing as I missed it when it was out in the cinema. This film again stars two of my favourite actors. This film is called Adrift and stars Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin. I had seen the trailer for this quite a lot before this came out and I knew that I would love it. It's based on a true story and I am a sucker for this type of film! The story is about a couple who set out to sail across the ocean and got caught in one of the biggest hurricanes in recorded history. The film is about how they met and how they deal with the aftermath of the hurricane. It's such a beautiful film and will be one that I am recommending. The story is truly amazing and so inspiring! The way they have done this film is so powerful and I think the two actors were the perfect choice for the part! I think a lot of you will really love this film so I wanted to include it in today's post.

3. The Perfect Girls Film

I am trying to include a good mixture of films within this post so I thought it wouldn't be right unless I included a romantic film! This film is probably one that you may have seen on my Instagram stories quite a lot because I do watch it all the time! The Longest Ride is a film that my cousin recommended to me as she said that I would love it. She knows me so well as it's now one of my favourite films. The Longest Ride stars Britt Robertson and Scott Eastwood. The film is about Luke, a professional Bull Rider and Sophia, a college student preparing for her dream job in New York. It's all about their journey and looking back on the memories of another character called Ira. It's a really beautiful film and I think the story line is so good. This film is based on a book by Nicholas Sparks so I think everyone knows it's going to be amazing before even watching it. This is the perfect film for a girls night in!

4. A Classic

Now this is a film that has the BEST cast in it! This Means War stars Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy. I'm sorry, but that's the ultimate dream team right there! This is such a classic film for me and one that I will never get bored of. My favourite kind of films are action films that have a bit of a romantic story line in and this one ticks all of those boxes. This Means War is a film about two spies, FDR and Tuck, who fall for the same girl, Lauren. It's all about Lauren trying to choose between them and the guys having a battle to try and win her over. It has an action story line within it too which I love and overall, it's a hilarious film! I know so many people who adore this film but I bet there are also so many people who haven't even heard of it before. This has got to be up there with one of my favourite films and will always be a classic for me. The best cast, such a good story line and a must see!

5. You Can't Beat a Disney Film

Of course this post wouldn't be complete without a Disney film thrown into the mix! My love for Disney grows every time they bring another film out and they never seem to get it wrong. I feel like everyone loves Disney, even if they say they don' usually means they're lying. Th Princess Diaries is such a classic Disney film and one that I know so many people love. When I was looking through my DVD's last night, I saw this film and realised that I hadn't watched it in so long. I had forgotten how much I loved this film and how much it excites me that they might be making a third one! The Princess Diaries stars Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews...a pretty perfect combination! The film is about Mia, a teenager who is shy and invisible, who finds out that she is actually a princess of Genovia. Her Grandmother is currently Queen of Genovia and is trying to teach her how to be a princess in 3 weeks. This again, is such a feel good film that I love to watch. I really love the story line and I am considering watching the second one today...If you haven't seen it already, where have you been? And if you have seen it, watch it again as I can guarantee it's been a while since a lot of you last saw this classic film!

6. Marvel Will Always Be My Favourite

Again, if you know me well, you will know that I adore Marvel films so so much! To end this post, I wanted to include a new film which has just come out on DVD and another hit to the Marvel franchise. I have only just realised that this will be the second film in today's post which stars Tom Hardy...oh well, you can never have too much of Tom Hardy right? Venom is about a guy called Eddie Brock who has lost everything and suddenly becomes a host to an alien symbiote which gives him superpowers and transforms him into Venom. This film is one that I saw in the cinema and instantly loved it after it only been on for 10 minutes. It's an amazing action film but is also hilarious as well. I think Tom Hardy was the perfect person to play this character and I know that so many other people will agree with that. It's quite different to a lot of the other Marvel films but still just as amazing. I believe they are making another Venom film, so I'm super excited to see that! If you haven't got round to watching this one yet, it's one that I definitely recommend! If you love a good action and superhero film , then this one won't disappoint!

So there we have it! That's 6 films that I recommend to start off this new series on my blog. Like I previously said, I have tried to include a good mixture within this post so that there is something for everyone. I'm afraid Horror will never be a category in this series...sorry to disappoint but I'm not a fan of horror films! Other than that, I will try to include all genres as best as I can and make sure that there is always a variety of films. I have tried to cover the basis of the story lines within this post but I didn't want to include any spoilers as I know a lot of you will go away and watch some of these films. I hope you all enjoyed today's post and are excited for the new series. I know a few of you have been asking for something like this on my blog for a while now so I'm happy that I have finally go round to starting this! Film is always going to be a big passion of mine, so I don't think I will ever run out of films to watch. If anyone has any recommendations of films that they love, then be sure to let me know as I might be able to include some of them in upcoming posts! If you haven't already, be sure to follow my Instagram as I am always posting on my stories what films I am currently watching!

I will be back again next week with a brand new post...
