Do People Still Make New Years Resolutions?

2019 is fast approaching and if I'm honest...I can't wait to say goodbye to 2018. This year has been an interesting one for sure and I can't wait to have a new start and a new year. I feel like opinions on setting new years resolutions and the idea of a new start have changed. A lot of people still love setting new goals and achievements but a lot of people now are against the idea. Personally, I don't really have a preference. If people want to set them, then great! But if people don't like the idea of new years resolutions, then that's fine too. It's all down to the individual and where you are in your life. Some people may not need to set any goals as they are happy with how things and are going and some people may always be working on their goals all year round. Some people don't see a point in setting resolutions as they know they will last a couple of days and some people like the idea of a fresh start and the idea of setting some targets to go into the new year with. That's where I'm currently sitting...looking at 2019 as a new start and a beginning to set some targets and goals for myself.

I usually try and set myself some resolutions every year, but for some reason, this year I am more determined than ever to set myself some new goals and new starts. 2018 has been full of ups and downs for me and I'm ready to say goodbye to some situations as well as some people. I guess this is a completely normal thing for everyone as a lot can happen in a year. Don't get me wrong, there were so many amazing highlights of 2018! I gained an amazing friend, I met one of my biggest inspirations In The Frow, I did a skydive, I got another tattoo, I dyed my hair dark, I went on some epic road-trips, I saw some amazing artists in concert, I went to Greece with one of my best friends, I bought a new car, I relaunched my blog, I started working with an amazing Photographer, I turned 21 and so much more! Out of everything that happened this year, one of the things that I am most excited about and happy to announce is that on the 27th December, my sister had a baby! That's right...I'm an Auntie. Welcome to the world Ophelia Grace Forster! So there has been some great things to happen in 2018 that I will be forever grateful for but as always, there also has been some bad things to happen in 2018! But, I am hoping to leave most of that behind with 2018 and start 2019 with positivity!

I have spoken to a few people recently who won't be setting new years resolutions because they just can't stick to them and are starting to not like the idea of them. I'm actually quite shocked how many people are taking this idea on but at the end of the day, I don't blame them if they don't want to set any resolutions. I personally don't think you have to set them, but for me, I feel like this year...I want to! I haven't come up with an exact list of resolutions yet, because I don't think it's ever going to be that precise. But, I have started to think about certain things that I want to achieve and complete in 2019. If I can come up with a list of about 5 or so resolutions, then I'll be happy. I'm not saying I'm going to stick to them all, but I am going to try my best at it! I'm interested to know...are any of you coming up with some new years resolutions for 2019? If you are, what are they? I am always keen to hear about other goals that people are setting for themselves as I find it inspiring! If you're not setting yourself resolutions, how come? I am also interested to hear about why people have chosen not to as well.

So, I thought I would go through a few of my ideas for resolutions in this post for you. Hopefully it might inspire some of you for ideas for your own resolutions or some of you, like me, might just enjoy reading about what other people are setting them-self for 2019! Firstly, I am going to start with the most cliche resolution in the world but yes...I am setting it. Fitness. I know that this is something that you will hear so much at this time of year, so I won't go into too much detail. I have been going to the gym for quite a while now and I am still enjoying it! But, I feel over the past couple of months my motivation has dropped a little and I basically just need to get back into the swing of things. So, my resolution isn't to start this big diet and start working out 7 times a week because let's face it...that's not me! But I do need to get back into this whole fitness thing and build my love back up for working out! I feel better after working out, I feel healthier and I always have more energy, so there should be no excuses! I don't really like the idea of a diet but I do need to start eating a little better in 2019. What can I say, Cheese and Chocolate are life! So that's the first of my resolutions, get back into the fitness game and maybe say no to Pizza a little more often...

Now this next one may not seem like a resolution but it is something I want to complete in 2019. As you probably already know by now, I am a big film lover. I watch films all the time and have a big dvd collection and love for Netflix. Now, even though I have already seen a LOT of films, there are still so many more that I haven't seen yet. So, I have started to create a list of films that I am keen to see in 2019 and I want to start making my way through them! I will still be going to the cinema every week to watch new films that are been released, but I will also be making my way through some older films at home too. I have created the list on my phone and will slowly be ticking off ones that I have watched. This is a list that I will forever be adding to and this is a resolution that I know I can stick to. See, not all resolutions have to be a bad thing!

Another one that I feel like I say every year and don't often succeed at is trying different types of food. I am super boring when it come's to what I eat as I always stick to what I know and the plain types of food. But, I am excited to try different meals in 2019. It's 100% just a mind set thing as to why I stick to certain foods and also me being quite lazy...But, not only am I wanting to try a variety of foods, I also want to know how to make them as well. I think that it will make a difference when it comes to trying the meals knowing I have made it myself! If anyone has any great vegetarian and nut free meals that they want to send my way...that would be appreciated!

In terms of resolutions for the blog, I already have a list of ideas for 2019. I am so excited that I have a photographer that I can work with on a monthly basis to create some great images for the blog and my Instagram page. Being creative is always something I have loved and whether it;s writing or photography, I am glad that I have an outlet that I can create and share on! Josey has been a dream to work with in 2018 and I am so excited to see what we come up with in 2019. She has taken all of the images in today's post and I would love if you guys could go and check out her website and Instagram page and make sure to give her a follow! I can't wait to start working on 2019 ideas for you guys! If there is anything in particular that you want to see from me, then please just give me a message as I love hearing your feedback. I know I often get messages on Instagram about certain products or recommendations which I will always help out with as best as I can! My passion for the cruelty free lifestyle is still as strong as ever and I love that this is the reason a lot of you read my blog...so thank you! In 2019 I want to write a lot more on this topic as well as different ways that you can change your lifestyle to help the world around us...stay tuned in 2019!

So there we have it, some of my ideas for 2019 resolutions. These are just things that I have been thinking about but I'm sure there will be a few more goals and achievements that I can think of over the next couple of weeks or so. I am enjoying the idea of a new year, new start and new goals to try and achieve. Although this year has been full of some down moments and tough situations, there has been so many amazing highlights that help me to forget about these and so many memories to think about instead! Just remember, not every year is going to be 100% perfect and if you go in thinking like this, then you may just be let down. A year is supposed to be full of ups and downs. It's supposed to be full of mistakes, surprises and things that you weren't expecting. There will be so many happy moments and also some sad moments...we are all human! The down days make you appreciate the highlights and we always learn from the bad moments as well. I am excited to see what 2019 holds for me and I am hoping it's going to be one of the best year's yet! I just wanted to say a massive thank you to every single person that takes the time to read my blog posts, hit's like or follow on my Instagram page and messages me with some really lovely feedback! I appreciate every single one of you! I am really excited to see where my blog takes me in 2019 and I hope all of you will be joining me in the New Year. I hope you all have an amazing New Year's tomorrow, whether you're going out or staying in.

Happy New Year and I'll see you in 2019...

Kellie xx
