How I Get Rid Of A Bad Mood

Being in a bad mood is something that we all go through, perhaps this is on a day to day basis, a certain point in the week or sometimes it can be one of those weeks where nothing goes right. Personally, I hate being in a bad mood. It gives you a negative outlook on everything happening and it makes me want to be on my own and not speak to anyone. But, at the end of the day, being in a bad mood is completely human and we will all have our own reasons as to what has put us in a bad mood.

Today I wanted to share with you guys ways to get out of this mood! Of course, everyone will have their own preferences of how they do this, but sharing ways with others can be a great way to find something new to help. You may discover a way you never even thought of or find something to do that actually makes you feel a whole lot better.

The first thing is probably the most obvious one to most and this is talking to someone. Although bad moods may make us feel like we want to shut down and hide in our own little bubble, speaking to someone may actually help you feel a lot better. If you have a little rant and get everything off your chest that is circling round in your mind, then you are able to release some of the negative energy! I love it when you can phone your friend up and say 'I need to get something off my chest' and then they will sit down somewhere and say 'Ok, go...'. Even if nothing comes from your little talk or rant, at least you've stopped it from circling in your brain a thousand times and released it somewhere else.

Another option which helps me is exercise. Going to a gym class or getting in a workout can make me feel a whole lot better. Again, it's about that release and feeling as if some weight has been lifted off your shoulders. Doing a big workout can help me clear my mind, get rid of that tension and help me have a clearer outlook on some situations. I don't know if there is a specific scientific reason behind this, but it works for me! This also doesn't have to include a big gym class, it could be walk, a bike ride, a run...whatever works best for you!

Taking the time to look after yourself can also be a great way to get rid of your bad mood. It definitely doesn't help a bad mood when you're already feeling stressed, busy or feel like you cant get anything done. Being full speed ahead wont help you feel any better so slowing things down and actually finding the time to have some you time always helps my mood. A pamper time will always do the trick for me. A face mask, painting my nails, getting a good skincare routine in, washing my hair, and having a chill night is the best. I think it's the feeling of being fresh, having your skin feel amazing and almost feeling like a new woman again! I love to have a little pamper routine done and getting in bed to watch a film. If you know me well, then you'll know that watching films is hands down my favourite thing in the world, so doing this will always make me feel better.

The final way which often works for me to get rid of a bad mood is to listen to music. Listening to music can often make most situations better and gives you that distraction you need. When you're in a bad mood, your mind is usually overthinking everything and running at a thousand miles per hour, so if you listen to music, then you can override this! Everyone will of course have their own taste in music and can pick whatever makes them happy to listen to. Since I listen to such a wide range of music, usually anything will make me feel better. At the moment, listening to The Greatest Showman soundtrack is my favourite thing in the world and I believe that this music can make anyone feel happy. Don't you agree?

So that's it for today's post! I hope this was helpful to some of you guys and was a little bit of positive energy for a Sunday! Just remember that bad moods are normal and everyone has them! But, there are always ways to get out of them and that's the most important part!

'You can't always have a good day. But you can always face a bad day with a good attitude.'
