What 2017 Has Taught Me...

I can't believe I'm sat down writing the post to sign off 2017 and say hello to a New Year! But, it's safe to say that I am so ready for a brand New Year, new start and lot's of new opportunities!

For today's post, I wanted to discuss some topics and what has happened in 2017 for me! 2017 has been full of lots of highs, but also some lows in there too. Things have changed, I've made new friends, gained new experiences and seen lots of new places...

1. Friendship

I feel like this year has been kind to me in terms of friendship! Last year was a little rocky...so I'm so happy to say that I have a handful of truly amazing friends. They have helped me through a lot this year and I couldn't be more grateful. Friendship is just the best thing for me and has been one of the highlights of the year. My best friend Alice is still by my side ending 2017, we have had an amazing year and feel like our friendship is stronger than ever. Although Alice went off to Unit this year, we still speak every week, or day in some cases...and we have also booked our holiday for 2018! My other best friend Lizzie, went off to Australia this year! Although I don't get to see her beautiful face every week anymore, I still speak to her all the time! I am so happy she is having the most amazing time in Australia and I can't wait to go over and see her very soon. Seeing your friends so happy and achieving amazing things, really is such a wonderful feeling! Finally, this year I made a new friend, who is now one of my best friends! Kaysha is someone who has come into my life this year and I will be forever grateful. It's the best when you click with someone instantly and now we're inseparable! She's just as mad as I am, and just as ambitious as I am too!

I have also made so many new friends through the Blogging world this year and that makes me extremely happy! I love having the support through an online community, it makes me very happy.

2. Looking After Yourself

I feel like this topic is always going to be one that appears in these posts, as it's so so important. This year, more than ever, I have understood how important is it to take care of yourself. Life can be very busy sometimes, but remembering to look after yourself should always be at the top of your mind. This could be in terms of fitness, eating well, mind or emotions! It's ok to put yourself first sometimes..be selfish, don't feel guilty because your health should always be number one. Physical health and mental health is never something you should push to one side...

3. 2017 Adventures

2017 was the year that I finally got to go travelling. I spent around 3 months around Europe and I am so happy that I got to experience this. This was the main thing that stood out for me in 2017 and will be a year that I never forget because of this. I got to see so many new places and find some of my favourite spots in the world. I have so many pictures to look back on from this trip, met so many new faces and just had an incredible time! Travelling is 100% something that I want to do more of this year, and I can't wait! I wrote so many blog posts on this if you want to find out more...just go to the travel section on my blog!

4. Career

2017 was also the year that I landed in a job that I am really enjoying. I have had quite a few jobs, but none of them were one's that I really enjoyed doing or was bothered about getting out of bed for. But now, I'm in a job where I am happy to get out of bed for, happy to stay behind to do extra work and happy to talk about what I do! Having a career where you feel happy can make such a difference to your lifestyle and mental health! If you're not happy in your current job, do something about it! I know sometimes it can be easier said than done, but you have to try!

5. Blogging

Of course I had to discuss blogging in a round up of 2017. My love for blogging has grown so much this year and I am just obsessed with it. 2017 has brought me more opportunities for my blog than ever before. I have worked with more brands, met so many new people and gained so many new readers to my little space on the internet! I have reached goals which I never thought I would reach, had so much support and got the chance to work with so many new people. I have so many new ideas for 2018 and I can't wait to share them with you guys. I am ready to work harder than every on my blog and feeling so inspired. I have lots of exciting things coming up...so be sure to keep an eye out.

6. Inspirations

If you know me, you will know that there are so many people who I see as inspirations. I will always continue to support and praise them all the time. I have been introduced to new inspirations this year and also continued to love people who I have followed for a long time. This could be in the blogging world, acting world or in my world! I am loving the amount of incredible content that people have produced this year. It's so amazing to see what people can achieve if they put their minds to it...I feel so lucky to be able to be brought along with peoples travels, experiences and more...all through their social media platforms.

I have also seen so many amazing new films or TV shows this year, which have blown me away. I have been introduced to brand new faces who I now adore. I will always always always be a massive lover of film and TV and I just love having the chance to watch brand new movies every single year. I have watched so many new films this year, but some examples of ones that I adored are, Wonder Woman, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Safe Haven, The Greatest Showman, Moana and so many more!

I have also been very lucky to get to meet some of my inspirations in 2017 too. I attended an event with Ask Italian which was a dinner hosted by the lovely Em Sheldon. Em is someone who I have been following for a while now, and she is one of the best bloggers! She has the kindest heart, is beautiful inside and out, is so inspiring and very talented at what she does. It was amazing to be able to spend an evening with her, getting to know her better and I will always continue to support what she does! I also got to meet Carly Rowena this year as well. I absolutely adore this woman and she will always be my number one fitness inspiration. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met and I love her work. Her Instagram this year has just gone from 100 to 1000 and I am so proud! Be sure to check both of these beautiful ladies out!

7. Style

I feel like 2018 is going to be the year that I experiment so much more with my style! I feel like I have always just worn clothes which I liked and kept things very simple. But towards the end of 2017, I have started to have more of a passion for clothing and different styles. I really want to create more fashion posts in 2018 and have more ideas than ever for this topic. I have started to gain more inspiration from fashion bloggers and celebrities and it makes me so happy! Seeing the new trends, looking into the classic pieces and finding new brands has been something I have got myself into. This year, I want to be more adventurous with what I buy, try new brands, create some amazing outfits and blog about the ones I love. Like I said in my previous post, I am 100% feeling suits in 2018...watch this space!

8. Confidence

Confidence in 2017...I am not sure if this has gone down or up for me! Confidence does cover so many different areas. This could be body image, self confidence, communication, work...anything! With me, I feel like this is always going to be an ongoing project for me. Confidence is something that doesn't come as easily for me as others, but I'm working on it. In terms of body image, this is something I have told myself I am going to work on a hell of a lot more in 2018. Although the fitness resolution is so cliché, it is one that is at the top of my mind. Once I feel better with my body image, once I have discovered new styles which I love, surrounded myself with the right positivity, then things will just fall into place.

There will be times where I do feel confident and times where I don't. I don't think that I will ever be one of those people who are confident all the time, hats off to anyone that is...But I'm ok with that! At the end of the day, we are all human, no one's perfect and we are all fighting our own battles. So just remember...

Be kind always, no matter if you know somebody or not. You never know what someone is going though and how much of a difference a smile or nice comment may make to their day! Support and positivity is something we all need to push in 2018...

So that's it for today's post. One big round up of 2017 and all my thoughts about the year. It's now 2018 and I would love to know what your resolutions are! It could be something as little as trying new food, to learning a new language, to meeting new people. Whatever the case, I would love to know! Finally, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you guys! I know that everyone seems to say this at the end of the year...but I truly am so grateful for every one of you that reads a blog post, hits the like button on my Instagram or even goes that extra mile and clicks follow. Whatever the support, big or small, it doesn't go unnoticed and I am so so grateful. You have all helped me reached milestones which I thought were unreachable and for that, I thank you!

I hope you have all has an amazing New Year and are looking forward to what 2018 brings...

Kellie xx
