Do People Still Make New Years Resolutions?

2019 is fast approaching and if I'm honest...I can't wait to say goodbye to 2018. This year has been an interesting one for sure and I can't wait to have a new start and a new year. I feel like opinions on setting new years resolutions and the idea of a new start have changed. A lot of people still love setting new goals and achievements but a lot of people now are against the idea. Personally, I don't really have a preference. If people want to set them, then great! But if people don't like the idea of new years resolutions, then that's fine too. It's all down to the individual and where you are in your life. Some people may not need to set any goals as they are happy with how things and are going and some people may always be working on their goals all year round. Some people don't see a point in setting resolutions as they know they will last a couple of days and some people like the idea of a fresh start and the idea of setting some targets to go into the new year with. That's where I'm currently sitting...looking at 2019 as a new start and a beginning to set some targets and goals for myself.

I usually try and set myself some resolutions every year, but for some reason, this year I am more determined than ever to set myself some new goals and new starts. 2018 has been full of ups and downs for me and I'm ready to say goodbye to some situations as well as some people. I guess this is a completely normal thing for everyone as a lot can happen in a year. Don't get me wrong, there were so many amazing highlights of 2018! I gained an amazing friend, I met one of my biggest inspirations In The Frow, I did a skydive, I got another tattoo, I dyed my hair dark, I went on some epic road-trips, I saw some amazing artists in concert, I went to Greece with one of my best friends, I bought a new car, I relaunched my blog, I started working with an amazing Photographer, I turned 21 and so much more! Out of everything that happened this year, one of the things that I am most excited about and happy to announce is that on the 27th December, my sister had a baby! That's right...I'm an Auntie. Welcome to the world Ophelia Grace Forster! So there has been some great things to happen in 2018 that I will be forever grateful for but as always, there also has been some bad things to happen in 2018! But, I am hoping to leave most of that behind with 2018 and start 2019 with positivity!

Why I Love Having Time Off In Winter

As a lot of you may know, I much prefer the colder months to any other. I prefer the darker nights, wrapping up in jumpers and coats and feeling super cosy inside while it's raining! Today I wanted to write up a post all about the things I like to do in my time off over Christmas. This post is definitely going to be super cosy and chilled and I thought it was the perfect type of post to write for this rainy Sunday! So sit back, relax and I hope you enjoy reading today's post!

1. Pamper Time

I think over Christmas is the perfect time to have a few pamper days or evenings. It's one of my favourite things to do and can make me feel like a new women! I love getting all of my skincare products out and choosing what I want to use for a pamper evening. I usually start with a face mask and we all know this is an essential! I then have a shower where I can exfoliate, cleanse and give my hair a good wash. I really enjoy spending the time to give my skin a deep cleanse as it always feels soft and fresh afterwards! A face mask and exfoliator that I am loving using at the minute is the Superdrug Superfruits Exfoliating Mask and the Zoella Pretty Polished Body Scrub. Next, I will light some candles in my bedroom as I finish off my skincare routine. If I am having a pamper session, I will always use lots of amazing skincare products to leave my skin feeling hydrated and soft. The Body Shop Drops of Youth ConcentrateBouncy Sleeping Mask and Soap and Glory Eye Patches are key products for any pamper session of mine. These are affordable and Cruelty Free products which I would recommend trying if you haven't already. I finish off my skincare using a body butter or lotion! I will then sit back and relax while doing other beauty bits while watching a good TV show like friends or the big bang! This could include painting my toenails, plucking my eyebrows, applying a foot mask and loads more! Everyone's pamper routine will be different and there are so many different beauty bits that you could do to make yourself feel amazing. I think that it's really important to make time to look after yourself, especially around the colder months as this is when your skin will need it the most. It allows you time to recharge and get yourself feeling amazing again!

Hair Changes and Some Of My Favourite Products

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you have all had an amazing weekend and are having a chilled out Sunday like me. I have had quite a few messages and comments about my hair colour change and also about the products I use, so I thought it would be the perfect time to write a blog post on this! I am going to talk you through why I decided to change my hair colour and some of my holy grail shampoo and conditioners which I think a lot of you will love. I think that it's so important to look after your hair and also know what products are best for your type of hair. Hair is one thing that you can change and it make such a huge different to your appearance. I am really happy with the colour of my hair and so happy that I made the change to go darker!

My hair journey...

I was always known for being Blonde. It's the colour my hair has been for as long as I can remember and I did really love it. I had never chosen to go any other colour than Blonde and it's what people knew me to have. I really liked being blonde but it was a lot of effort to keep up with the roots and the constant bleaching of the hair. In September 2017 I decided that I wanted a bit of a change, so I decided to go for Silver hair! This was a decision that I really really loved and having Silver hair was amazing! I really loved how it looked and everyone else also loved the Silver hair too. But again, as this needed quite a bit of upkeep and maintaining, my hair was not enjoying this stage as much as I wanted it too and I think it needed to change to improve the condition of my hair.

I started to leave it so that my roots were growing out and that's when I decided that I wanted to go darker. I knew it was going to be so much easier to maintain and I was also feeling really inspired by seeing other people with darker hair as well. Gal Gadot, Mila Kunis and Michelle Keegan were all people who I follow on Instagram and seeing pictures of them with their dark brown hair really made me want to do it! May this year I decided to go for it and dye my hair darker! If I'm honest, I really don't know why I didn't do this sooner as I am completely in love with it! I really love the shade that it's at now and I have even gone darker than what we initially went just because I love it so much. I think that it looks in better condition and feels so much healthier too as I'm not bleaching it and dying it all the time. The only thing that I now need my hair to do is grow! I am really enjoying the length of my hair at the minute but as always, I would love it if it grew some more.

Do I Regret Not Going To University?

A question that I often get asked is why I didn't go to uni and do I wish I had gone? I thought that it would be the perfect opportunity to sit down and write a post about this topic because I know so many of you also made the option not to go to university. Of course, the choice is down to each individual and what works for you. It all depends on your career path that you want to go down. But, at the end of the day, not going to university doesn't mean that you can't get the job of your dreams and that's something I have always stuck by.

Was Uni ever on my mind as an option?

I can remember when I was in college and the talks of university started to arise. We were starting to receive leaflets, emails, options, all about where we were wanting to go. From the very beginning, I knew instantly that it wasn't for me. University has never been on my mind and I knew that it wasn't the path I wanted to go down. I think that in college, if you don't choose to look at going to university, then you don't really get any help or advice for the future. But if you were planning on going, you got all the help in the world. I think that this defiantly needs to change, as not going to uni is just as an important decision as deciding to go. Luckily, I didn't mind not having the advice from college, but I know so many people who would of appreciated it. I think that my college pressured a lot of people into thinking they had to go to university, because it's what everyone else was doing. I personally think that if you're unsure, then it's something you should consider but it's never a mandatory option. Uni was never on my mind as an option, and it's something I still don't regret.

Today I have a post which introduces you to a new brand on my blog as well as an amazing giveaway! I am so grateful to be partnering with this brand as I am in love with the pieces that they offer and the lady who runs it is so lovely and thoughtful! Esme Louise is a British Jewellery brand all about empowering the modern woman to be effortlessly herself. I have honestly fallen in love with the pieces as they are simple yet beautiful and if you know me, you will know that simple jewellery pieces are my favourite. They have also recently launched a new range of pieces called The Dreamer's Collection and I can't tell you how much I love it! It's my style all over and I think a lot of you guys will also love it! I am going to give you a run down of some of the pieces that I have and at the end of this post I will let you all know about the amazing giveaway that they are running!

They are really light as well which is a bonus as I am not a fan of big and heavy earrings! I think a lot of you will love these!

The Implications of Social Media

Social media...as much as I love using the various platforms and would love to have a career in the area some day, it definitely has it's negative implications on most people. Social media platforms can be used to send such amazing messages and used for positive purposes but we all know that as social media has grown, the impact on body image, confidence and comparing ourselves to others has taken a turn.

Social media now follows us everywhere we go. Most people now have a phone which they can access all social media platforms easily on an everyday basis. Most people I know are active on social media and it's a massive part of social interaction.

My Perfect Autumn Skincare Routine!

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you have all had a good weekend and are ready for today's new post. I am sorry that I didn't get chance to post last week but the busy weeks caught up on me! Today I really wanted to sit down and write about my current skincare routine. I am really happy with the products that I am using at the minute and a skincare routine is so important when it gets to this time of year as the weather is changing. This whole routine is based on 3 brands and they are all super affordable and as always...100% cruelty free!

I always use Micellar water to take off my makeup as it works the best and gets all the makeup off your skin. I apply this to a cotton pad and wipe away any makeup. I think that this product leaves the skin feeling soft and fresh! This micellar water is one that I tried as it was cruelty free compared to some of the popular ones. The Simple one works perfectly and is the easiest way to remove makeup. I also find this really useful to apply to cotton buds to make corrections or remove smudges to your makeup. As I wear waterproof mascara most of the time, I really love using the Simple eye makeup remover to take this off. You need to be gentle with the area around your eyes as they are really sensitive. So instead of rubbing at them to get the products off, it's better to use an eye makeup remover which is gentle on the skin and removes away the mascara really easily!

Why Kindness is Everything

Today I wanted to write a post all about kindness. I think sometimes people can often forget the importance of kindness. This can be the smallest gesture but can change someone's day. Kindness offers a positive atmosphere and one kind word can change everything.

There are so many amazing words that are associated with kindness. Affection, concern, warmth, care and so many more. If someone is known for being kind, they are usually the type of person that is friendly, considerate and generous. If someone's main trait is kindness, then I would defiantly say they are a good person and someone I could be friends with. Kindness is such an important aspect of a person to me and I think a lot of other people would agree. Whether it's friends, family or new people you have met, kindness is the number one thing that I would notice. Whether it's a kind word, a simple smile or opening the door for someone, all of these small acts are something that I notice.

Little Mix Beauty Collection!

The day has finally arrived...my favourite girl band have released their own beauty collection!

Little Mix have been an inspiration to me ever since they started and if you know me, you know how much I love them! I love their personalities, music, fashion, girl power and their makeup looks!

On September 13th Little Mix launched their beauty collection LMX on Boots and of course, I ordered some products straight away. The collection is now available in store as well as online, but this is a limited edition collection. I decided to pick up a few products to try as Boots had an amazing deal of 3 for 2. The whole collection is incredible, I really love the colour scheme and look of everything. It all looks high quality and the packaging is something that I think everyone will be drawn to. The range is full of a variety of things and the idea behind it is all about gifting. So, the majority comes as a set which I really like as you usually get more for your money. From palettes, lip kits, glitter sets, brushes and more!

To make everything a thousand times better, the range is Cruelty Free and Vegan! yesssssss

I turned 21!

So Thursday was a big day for me...I turned 21! I thought it would be the perfect time to write a new lifestyle post about 21 things that I have learnt in 21 years. I did this post last year for my 20th and it went down really well so I thought I would start a bit of a tradition and keep this going. I was at work for most of my birthday which wasn't a bad day believe it or not! My work friends decorated my desk and gave me some really lovely gifts. I really do work with the most amazing people and it makes such a big difference to the work! I spent the evening having a takeaway and watching Mamma Mia with the family...what a dream! I wanted the night to be quite chilled as it was the big party on Friday. I had a movie themed fancy dress party and got to dress up as one of my favourite characters...Wonder Woman! Everyone who came made a big effort and the room looked so amazing. From Jack Sparrow, to Mike and Sully, to The Greatest Showman...the room was filled with lots of my favourite film characters and it was an amazing night!

After that rundown of my birthday, lets move onto the main part of the post! Here are 21 things that I have learnt in 21 years!

All photos in this post were taken by the incredible Josey Grace Photography! Josey has also just got her website back up and running with her first blog post so please go and check it out!

1. Why reaching out is important

It's sometimes so easy to get caught up in social media and thinking you have caught up on someone's life just by looking at their Instagram or Facebook page. Liking their pictures and scrolling through their page isn't the same thing as giving them a call or going to see them and seeing how they are. I think it's something that some people often forget and need to remember how important things like this are. I always make sure I check up on people to see how they are, you never know when someone needs it!

I'm Back...and feeling more motivated than ever!

After not posting anything since April, finally figuring out what I want with my blog...I'm so happy to say that I'm back!

Firstly, I wanted to start off by saying thank you so so much to those people that have still continued to come onto my blog every day even though I haven't been posting anything for quite a few months! It blows my mind how many views I have still had, even though I haven't been active, so thank you! It has been almost 5 months since I last posted anything on here, which is a very long time, so I do have some explaining to do...

To make it super simple, I just needed a bit of a break from the blog. It got to a point where I was extremely busy, couldn't find anyone to help with photos and that I was just rushing posts which is not what I ever wanted. If I didn't have the time to create posts that loved and was posting things just for the sake of it, then I knew I wasn't going to enjoy it anymore. So, I decided to take some time off the blog to figure out what I wanted to do with it and work out a balance that could work for me.

Having a full time job and a social life and all of the other bits you have to do as well as running a blog...is quite difficult! But now I feel like I have worked something out that will work well for me and give me the right balance with everything else. I have figured out a plan that allows me to post regularly and have the time to create posts that I am proud of. It maybe doesn't take 5 months to figure this out...but having a bit of breathing space has given me more motivation than ever!

Is It A Bad Thing To Not Know What You Want?

What do you want to do as a career when you're older? Where do you want to live? What's your next steps?

These are questions that I get asked a lot and also think about myself. If I'm honest, I have absolutely no idea what the answer is for any of them. But that got me thinking, I personally believe that it's completely fine to not know. So, as always, I decided to sit down and write about my thoughts on this subject.

Rocking Girl Boss Mode For Less!

As you probably already know, this year I am embracing the girl boss fashion style. It's all about the suits, the bad ass girl vibe and feeling confident. I have already wrote about why I have chosen to do this and why I love it so much, but today I wanted to show you how you can do this for a really affordable price. Looking and feeling a million dollars doesn't always have to mean that it costs that much too. The high street brands have really upped their game over the past few years which is such an amazing step for so many others. It means that the latest trends and high quality fashion is accessible for so many more people.

I'm going to start with the suits as these are my favourite at the minute. I have found some really incredible suits from two places in particular that are both high street. The first place is New Look. This is a place where I have always shopped from the beginning and I just love the majority of things that I find from there. They are known for their affordable prices and it's amazing what you can create from the pieces that they sell. I have recently discovered a suit from New Look which I have fallen in love with. A year ago, this is something I would never of dreamed of buying, but now...I'm all about this look. This striped suit is a two piece which is such high quality! The material is so amazing and the colours are beautiful. The blazer costs £19.99 and the trousers also cost £19.99. £40 for a full suit which looks like this is just a dream for me! New look also have so many other suits for you to choose from. If you want something a little simpler, they have lots of plain tailored two pieces as well as your patterned styles. As I have always said, you don't always have to wear the full set, just the trousers or the blazer works amazing too.

Makeup Revolution New Products Review!

I feel like it's been a little while since I have done a beauty product review, so that's exactly what I am going to be doing today. As you will have probably already seen, Makeup Revolution have released some new products which a lot of people have been talking about. Of course I had to purchase these and see for myself what all the hype was about. As always, I will be giving you my complete honest opinions on these two products.

The first product is the Makeup Revolution Fast Base Foundation Stick. This is actually the first ever stick foundation that I have bought, so this was all very new for me. I have seen so many people talk about this product on YouTube and Instagram. I heard that this product gave amazing coverage for a really affordable price. I got mine in the shade F4 and this cost me £5! Yesterday, I decided to sit down and try out this product for my everyday makeup look. I used all the same products as I normally would for testing out a foundation to put it to the test.

Current Skincare Favourites!

For today's post, I had to share with you guys my current favourites in the world of skincare. I have recently been using new products in my routine and my skin has never felt better. It also makes me so happy to say that all of these products are from one brand. They say that the products from a brand are supposed to work wonders together, and I couldn't agree more. So without further ado, let me tell you about some amazing products from The Body Shop!

Let's start with a face mask that I have been using religiously lately. The Body Shop Seaweed Oil-Balancing Clay Mask has become my favourite face mask that I have ever used. Now that is a statement! I use this product twice a week and I love the look of my skin after using this. I apply this with a flat foundation brush, leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse off. It's that simple. This mask is an oil-balancing mask which helps to also draw out any impurities. I love the smell of this product and love how easy it is to apply onto the skin. I think this has become my favourite mask because it isn't messy at all. You can just apply it wherever you want on the face and it's done. I have recommended this mask to so many people lately and I can't see myself wanting to try out any other mask anytime soon...

What Does Beauty Mean To You?

When you hear the word beauty, what do you think of? Do the words makeup or healthy, strong, confident, fashion, come to mind? The wonderful thing about beauty is that it doesn't define just one word. Beauty can mean something different to everyone and can include so many different aspects. It could be terms of looks or beauty could be including whats on the inside of a person as well.

To me, beauty does cover so many different things. One side of this is the makeup world. Beauty does generally categorise things like products, tutorials, looks, shades, etc. Personally, I do really enjoy this side of beauty. I love how someone can be whoever they want to be with the power of makeup. One day, they could choose to be very glamorous and the next, very natural and confident. When it comes to makeup, there really are no limits. As long as someone feels comfortable and confident, then there's really no issue. If someone hates the idea of makeup and feels amazing without wearing it, then that's incredible too! Some days I will want to wear makeup but others I feel happy with my skin as it is...again, it doesn't matter as everyday can be different in the world of makeup.

'Be your own kind of beautiful.'

How I Get Rid Of A Bad Mood

Being in a bad mood is something that we all go through, perhaps this is on a day to day basis, a certain point in the week or sometimes it can be one of those weeks where nothing goes right. Personally, I hate being in a bad mood. It gives you a negative outlook on everything happening and it makes me want to be on my own and not speak to anyone. But, at the end of the day, being in a bad mood is completely human and we will all have our own reasons as to what has put us in a bad mood.

Today I wanted to share with you guys ways to get out of this mood! Of course, everyone will have their own preferences of how they do this, but sharing ways with others can be a great way to find something new to help. You may discover a way you never even thought of or find something to do that actually makes you feel a whole lot better.

Finding Your Fitness Inspiration

Hello all! I am back today with a brand new fitness post. I have been wanting to write a post for a while now about my fitness inspirations. Some weeks I find it hard to find my motivation for the gym as the week can be busy enough as it is. This has defiantly been the case for the last few weeks and I don't want it to become a regular thing! Some days it can be more difficult than others to find your motivation to go to the gym, but that's normal! I like to surround myself with fitness inspiration to allow me to feel motivated and want to work on getting stronger and healthier. This could be people around me, who I follow on social media, the things I choose to watch and so on...

Without further ado, let me show you some amazing guys and girls that are inspirations to me in the fitness world on an everyday basis!

5 Things I'm Excited For This Year

Hello everybody! I do apologise that there has been a bit of a gap between this post and my previous post...my internet actually hates me! But I'm back today with a post all about the things that I am looking forward to this year. I love writing these style posts and I also love reading them too. I think they are so good to look back on and see what I have achieved. I also love to see what people are wanting to achieve in a new year or have got planned. So, let's get on with it!

1. Let's continue to up the blog game!

This year I want to see what I can achieve in terms of my blog. I have already attended two incredible events this year and it leaves me feeling more inspired than ever. I am determined to reach more goals this year and create some amazing content! I still love blogging more and more everyday so no stopping for me this year.

It's all about becoming more organised, making plans and setting goals! One of my amazing friends has offered to help me as much as she can in terms of my blog and that means the world to me. It's always nice to have that help in hand when you want someone to ramble your ideas to or help you take an Instagram or pictures for a new blog post! So hopefully this year you will be seeing some exciting things happening on the blog...keep your eyes peeled.

You Don't Have To Spend Money To Be A Blogger...

Thinking of starting a blog? Think you need a decent budget to do this? Well think again! I know there sometimes can be the perception that in order to run a successful blog, you need a lot of money. This is for buying an expensive camera, backdrops, lighting, etc. But in reality...you can so this on a smaller budget as well.

So let's start with equipment. This is the part where some people think they can't run a blog because they don't have the money to spend on the equipment. Honestly, you don't need it! If you want to go ahead and buy yourself a nice camera to shoot with, then that's great! But if you don't have the budget for this, that's completely fine too. Shooting pictures isn't about what lens or brand you use, it's about how you shoot them and how you edit them. I have seen some amazing blog pictures taken on phones before and I think they looked so professional. I have often done a few shoots just using my phone, and I've been really happy with them! So in some cases, you may not even need a camera.

Two Amazing Products From The Body Shop!

Today I wanted to let you guys know about two amazing products from The Body Shop which I have been loving recently. These are both skincare products so I think this is perfect timing for anyone who is wanting to up their skincare routine for 2018 and find some amazing quality products for an affordable price.

First up we have The Body Shop Seaweed Oil-Balancing Toner. This product has been a bit of a game changer for me! As you may or may not know, I have oily skin. So when I am wearing makeup, it can often get quite shiny. But after using this product, I have 100% noticed a difference. My face doesn't get as shiny anymore and I just love this. I feel like using this product allows my skin to feel hydrated but also keeps the shine away which is perfect for me. After cleansing my face, I apply this using a cotton pad and that's it! It's as simple as that...
