How I Edit My Photos

Today's post is one that has been highly requested and one that I have been meaning to write for a while! I'm going to talk to you guys all about how I edit my photos. I have seen this type of post going around a little bit and I find them so interesting to read. It helps you discover new apps, tips, tricks and techniques for editing!

This post will be all about how I edit my blog and Instagram photos, as there isn't much difference! You don't need a high tech laptop or expensive editing software to create amazing images...trust me! I use my iphone to edit ALL of my images, and none of the apps that I use cost anything either, a win win!

Apps

So, let's begin with the most obvious thing...what apps do I use? The first one that I would say is the one that I use the most is VSCO. You will have probably already heard of this app as I know that it's very popular in the blogging world. I find it so useful and such an amazing app to say that it's free. It gives you so many different options to help you edit your image, from contrast, to saturation to sharpness and so much more! You simply choose an image from your camera roll and get editing! You can add different effects, colours, frames, overlays...the list is endless! I always tend to use this app the most as it's easy for me to use, allows me to edit my photos fast and works really well for my photos.

Another app which is very similar to the previous one, Photo Editor. This does exactly the same thing as VSCO and is very easy to use. The reason that I may decide to use this one instead, is because you can add text onto an image with this app. I also really love all the stickers, frames and borders that you can access on this app. I feel like the themes are perfect for bloggers and are amazing! It's super easy to use, allows you to save all you images quickly and they are easy to access on your phone.

The final two apps that I wanted to mention were Layout and Photo Collage. These two apps are what I would use once the images are edited, but I wanted to join some together to create a collage. I feel like these kinds of apps are so handy for bloggers to have, or anyone in fact, and are ones that I use quite often! On Layout, you simply choose which images you would like putting together and it will give you different options of how your final image could look. On Photo Editor, you choose the style first and then add the images afterwards! Trust me, it's much easier to download the apps for yourself and have a play around with it.

How to make the most of editing?

I would always say that if you want to make the most of editing, make sure you have a good enough starting point. At the end of the day, there is only so much editing can do, so try and make the original photo as best as you can! Making sure that you have good lighting and clear images is always going to make life easier. Editing a photo is different every single time. You may need to take the time to edit a photo quite a lot sometimes, but other times it may take you a minute or two as the original didn't need that much doing to it. So having an idea of what you would like to achieve with your photo before hand is always helpful!

Once you have a preferred app that you like to use, getting to know it as best as you can is great. I have learnt quite a lot from using VSCO and now that I have been using it for quite a while, I know what will work well for photos. Just have an experiment with the app and practice editing various images. I feel like my editing skills are a hell of a lot better than they used to be and I now understand what looks good. Using this app has made a huge difference to my photos and can help me to create professional images.

I have chosen some before and after images that I have used for my blog and Instagram to show you! You can see how much of a difference editing can make for sure...

So that's it for today's post! I hope you enjoyed reading this type of post as I know there were a few of you who wanted to see this. I will definitely do more of these in the future, so let me know if there is anything specific you would like me to cover. It just goes to show you guys that having your phone can be the best device ever as it's all I use for my images. If you guys have written a post all about how you edit your photos, please leave them down below as I would love to give them a read. I will be back again very soon...
