Celebrity Style Icon Series: Jennifer Lawrence

The last time I posted one of these was in November, so I thought that it was about time to do another one! I instantly knew who I was going to choose when I thought about this post and that is Jennifer Lawrence! She has always been a style icon to me and never fails to amaze with with her street style or red carpet style! Since Mockingjay Part 2 has recently been released, we have seen a lot of Jennifer Lawrence on the red carpet and I think that this is the best she has ever looked! I loved looking at all the outfits she decided to wear and I thought that they were all gorgeous. I also really love her hair at the minute too and its the exact colour that I want! It was hard to narrow down the looks for this blog post, but here are a few of my favourites...

Black is my favourite colour when it comes to clothing so there was no surprise that I loved these outfits! I love the black dresses for the red carpet but I also love the suit style outfits too! The last outfit is my favourite and I think it is something that I would love to wear!

Jennifer Lawrence has also been wearing a lot of white too and I think she looks gorgeous! These are defiantly some of my favourites! Although a lot of the outfits that she wears are really simple, she still looks amazing and so glamorous! I think it looks perfect with her hair and she is my number one inspiration! I love watching interviews with Jennifer Lawrence as she has the best personality and I always want to see what she's wearing.

I also really love Jennifer's street style as well. This look has been one of my favourites recently but there are loads of outfits that I have loved! Her fashion style is very similar to mine and her red carpet choices are what I would choose if I was going to a premiere. I also have been loving her makeup looks as well at the minute. She has been wearing a gorgeous red lip a lot which goes really well with the black and white dresses!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and I will be continuing this series on my blog next month! I hope you all have an amazing New Years Eve and I cant wait to see what 2016 brings! I think its going to take me a while to get used to saying 2016 as its come around so quickly! I have lots of ideas planned for the blog next year so there's lots to look out for! I will see you on Saturday with another lifestyle post and the first one of 2016!

Christmas Baking

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and had a nice day with your family! I had a really nice day yesterday with my family and I received lots of lovely gifts from my family and friends! For today's post, I decided to show you what I baked for Christmas Eve. My family usually get together on Christmas Eve for a little party, so I decided to bake some things! I baked some buns and cookies and these were both really easy to make!

The first thing that I made were plain buns with butter icing. I left a few of them with normal icing but the rest had butter icing on them with Christmas sprinkles. These buns are really easy to make and don't take long! I haven't gone into a lot of detail about the recipe as I haven't had much time these past few days with it being Christmas! But, you can see a detailed recipe here...Cupcakes Recipe. You need to pre heat your oven to 150, mix all of your ingredients together, separate the mixture into cases, bake in the oven, leave to cool and then decorate!

Buns:

Ingredients:
125g sugar
125g butter
125g self raising flour
2 eggs
Icing sugar
Decorations
Bun cases

Icing sugar and butter for the icing. (The amount of these ingredients is up to you! You need double the amount of icing sugar to butter. I used around 100g butter and 200g icing sugar for mine.) If you want to see another recipe I have done with Butter Icing, then look here...Cupcakes.

The next thing that I made were milk and white chocolate cookies. This was something that my sister wanted me to make and I followed the recipe by Tanya Burr. It was really helpful having a video to follow as I had never made these before. They are really simple and easy to make.

Cookies:

Ingredients:
200g butter
300g caster sugar
1 large egg
325g self raising flour
dash of milk
200g white chocolate
200g milk chocolate

I hope you enjoyed today's post and I hope I gave you some inspiration of what to bake! These are really easy to do and they taste really nice! I hope you all had a good Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year! I cant believe its all over and its almost 2016! I will be back on Tuesday with another beauty related post!

Under £10 last minute beauty gifts...

Today's post, I thought I would give some ideas if you're struggling for some last minute shopping! I know a lot of people leave Christmas shopping to the last few days, so I gathered some beauty products that are all under £10. These would make perfect gifts for friends or family and they are all easy to get hold of, so they're perfect for last minute presents!

This is a perfect palette for a Christmas gift! It includes a bronzer, blush and highlight. This palette is only £8 and its amazing quality! The packaging is really lovely and this is an amazing gift for anyone who loves makeup!

This product is also another palette which is really affordable but a high quality gift! This product contains three shades for contouring with. Plus, it also gives you instructions on how to use them as well which I think is really helpful. This Barry M product is only £6.49, so a really affordable last minute gift!

I think this a really good gift for Christmas! If you know someone that loves eyeshadow, then this is a really affordable gift that is high quality! This palette is from Maybelline and costs £9.99 and contains 12 shades!

I have mentioned this product so many times on my blog, so I had to include it in this post! I know so many people that use this mascara and absolutely love it! It only costs £7.99 and is one of the best mascaras I have used. A great gift!

I think that these products from Maybelline are perfect little gifts for Christmas! They are only £4.99 and last for a really long time. There are a selection of shades to choose from and they are one of my favourite drugstore products!

I have only recently just bought lip butters and I really like them! They are a nice alternative to lipsticks and I really love that you have the option of a Matt one as well. The Rimmel product is £5.99 and the collection products are £2.99. I think these are perfect for last minute gifts and there are a variety of colours to choose from!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and hopefully I gave you some ideas if you're struggling what to get in the last few days! I decided to base this on drugstore products that are under £10 as I know how expensive Christmas can be. But drugstore brands have improved so so much and I love a lot of the products that they offer. I hope you all have an amazing Christmas and I will be back on Boxing day with another lifestyle post!

Leeds German Market

Yesterday, I went to Leeds German Market with my two friends Chloe and Elspeth. I have never been to this before but its something that I've wanted to do for years. I really enjoyed it and it definitely made me feel really festive! I loved all of the little stalls and the atmosphere is really great too! We went during the day time so I didn't get to see it in the dark with all the lights lit up, but I'm sure it looks amazing! I didn't buy anything but I thought all the stalls were really cute and its a place to go to get you in the Christmas mood. I had a really lovely day with Chloe and Elspeth, we exchanged Christmas presents and did a bit of shopping too. I took lots of pictures for this post so I hope you enjoy!

All of the stalls sold loads of Christmas things and lots of little cute things too!

I really love going to festive events because I sometimes get out of the festive mood so I like going to things like this! I also try and watch a lot of Christmas films so that I stay excited for Christmas. I cant believe how close Christmas is now, this year has gone so so fast! I will be back on Tuesday with another beauty post and the last post before Christmas!

Beauty/Fashion Inspiration...

For today's post I decided to gather a collection of videos from YouTube that I have been loving this month! I love watching YouTube videos for makeup, fashion and skincare inspiration. I find it difficult to decide what kind of looks I want to wear in the Christmas season so having some ideas really helps! I do watch a lot of Youtubers anyway so I found it easy to find lots of content for this post. I've gathered a variety of videos for you to watch and they're all for the Christmas and Winter season!

Fashion:

The first video that I had to mention was Zoella's video that she uploaded yesterday! Its a Christmas Lookbook full of amazing outfits! Zoe is definitely someone I look to for style inspiration! This video is great for getting ideas for winter fashion.

I thought that I would include a winter haul in this post as this video inlcudes lots of fashion inspiration! This video is by one of my favourites, Anna Saccone. Anna likes very simple clothing items and loves wearing plain colours like black, grey and white. This is exactly the same as me so this video was perfect!

Beauty and Skincare:

This has definitely been one of my favourite videos this month. This is another video by Zoella! I love watching pamper and skincare routines as I'm always looking for ideas to improve my own routine! I'm always wanting to learn about how to look after my skin a lot better so these videos are great to watch!

Tutorials are amazing videos to watch as you can learn about new looks and also learn about new products as well! Tanya Burr is a great YouTuber for tutorials on a variety of things! This Emma Watson inspired makeup look is perfect for a Christmas Party!

This video has a tutorial for makeup, hair and a skincare routine! Gabriella Lindley is also another one of my favourite's and I thought that this video would be perfect to include because it has everything!

This drugstore makeup look by Danielle Mansutti is perfect for Christmas Day! I love watching drugstore tutorials as I cant always afford high end makeup and I love seeing how a product works before buying it!

Makeup Looks and Outfits:

Another video by Tanya Burr! This video will definitely get you in the festive spirit and also get you thinking about what you want to wear for that Christmas Party! This look is really simple but looks amazing!

I had to include a video by Lucy and Lydia because their videos are always amazing! Their Christmas Party looks are so gorgeous and they use really affordable products too which is so helpful, especially around Christmas!

The final video I chose for this post is another one by the gorgeous Danielle Mansutti! This is another get ready with me video and I have been loving these types of videos recently as they give you inspiration for the whole look! This is a perfect look for Christmas Day!

I hope you enjoyed reading all about my beauty and fashion inspiration for the Christmas month! I would recommend watching all of these videos in this post as they are honestly amazing and have given me so many ideas! YouTube is a great place to go when you need ideas or inspiration for absolutely anything! I will be back on Saturday with another Christmas related lifestyle post! I cant believe Christmas is next week, how exciting!!

The Christmas Tag!

This week I decided to do the Christmas Tag with my sister. My sister is 19 years old and her name is Shannon, she agreed to do the Christmas Tag with me as we thought it would be an interesting post to do! I really enjoy reading other peoples posts about Christmas so I decided that this would be a good post as you get to find out everything that we like about Christmas! There are ten questions in total and I chose these questions from a few Christmas Tag videos on YouTube that I have watched...

1. When do you start getting excited for Christmas?

S: October! I'd say after Halloween is over because the next thing is Christmas.
K: I would say in November, maybe half way through November as things start getting really festive. I do like the longer run up to Christmas!

2. Do you still have an advent calendar?

S: No...I had one last year but this year I didn't bother.
K: Well I still have one! This year I got the Milky-bar one and I will get one every year because its chocolate, so why wouldn't I?

3. Favourite Christmas films?

S: The Grinch is my favourite and always has been! I also like The Muppet's Christmas Carol, the first Home Alone and...Frozen.
K: Wait, is that a Christmas film?
S: Well...it came out at Christmas time.
K: My favourites are, Elf and The Snowman. I really love The Holiday! I also like Home Alone and The Grinch as they are just classic Christmas films!

4. Whats your Christmas routine?

S: I wake up at 5 o clock! Maybe not that early...(at this point I gave Shannon a look as I know she does get up soooo early!) Open presents straight away, chill out for a bit, eat Christmas dinner and then visit all the family.
K: I get woken up by Shannon quite early...Once we all get up we then go downstairs and open the presents! We then chill out for a bit and look at all the stuff we got. We get ready and have Christmas dinner. In the afternoon we go to my dads and visit the rest of the family! At night, I'm usually at my dads and we just have a bit of a party which is really fun.

5. Favourite Christmas songs?

S: The Pogues.
K: Which ones that?
S: "And the bells are ringing out on Christmas dayyy..." I also like Last Christmas.
She then starts singing this song too and my dad joins in as well!
K: My favourite is probably Mariah Carey, All I want for Christmas is you! I also like the Michael Buble Christmas album as he is one of my favourites.

6.  Whats your favourite thing about Christmas time?

S: Seeing everyone!
K: You don't have to lie just because its going on my blog...
S: No! I do like it. And giving presents...
K: My favourite thing is buying and giving people presents. I just really like this part and love the feeling when they really love it! I also really love Christmas lights!

7. On Christmas day, do you stay in your pjs or dress up?

S: Dress up! Well, with a Christmas jumper...
K: We usually tend to get dressed up a little bit. But if we stayed in one place on Christmas Day, I would definitely stay in my onesie all day!

8. What would be your dream destination to visit during the Christmas season?

S: Erm...wherever the Northern Lights are! Dad where are they? Scandinavia!
K: Mine would 100% be New York!
S: Yeah, I've already been there...
K:......
Next question!

9. Are you good at wrapping Christmas presents?

S: Yes I am! I think I'm average but I'm not bad.
K: I'm brilliant at wrapping presents.
(Shannon starts laughing)
K: Ok, I'm not good at wrapping presents. But I do try!

10. Do you like it to snow around Christmas?

S: Yeah I do like snow!
K: Why?
S: It just seems cosy, its cold but...
K: I don't like snow, its way too cold and snow is really rubbish in the UK as it just turns to black horrible ice. I think if I was somewhere where it snowed properly then I might like it.

That's all the questions for this blog post! I really enjoyed answering these questions with my sister and there were times when we couldn't stop laughing for no reason at all! I hope you enjoyed reading this post and I will be back on Tuesday with another Christmas related beauty post!

What's in my makeup bag? Christmas Day...

Today's beauty post is all about whats in my makeup bag on Christmas Day! Some people just lounge around and chill out on Christmas Day but because I have lots of family to visit, we tend to get dressed up and get ready. So, I usually do my makeup on Christmas Day and bring a little makeup bag around with me. In today's post I will be showing you all of the products that I will most likely be using on Christmas Day and also what I will be taking with me in my makeup bag!

The makeup look that I would wear on Christmas day would be quite easy but I would put effort in with the eyes and lips to make the look a bit more special. I don't usually want a lot of heavy makeup on Christmas Day as I want it to feel comfortable and last the whole day! But I usually want to make an effort as there's always lots of pictures and I quite enjoy getting dressed up on Christmas! I have listed below all of the products that I am planning on using ...

Garnier Moisture Matte
Maybelline Fit Me Foundation
Rimmel Wake me up concealer
Rimmel Stay matte powder
Benefit Hoola bronzer
Nars Blush
Collection Highlight and Sculpt
Tanya Burr Hollywood Eye Palette
Benefit Eyeliner
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
Kate Moss Lipstick 107

You can create so many different looks for Christmas Day and this year I decided that I am going to wear a brown smokey eye with a red lip! The Kate Moss Lipstick in 107 is one of my favourite's and I think that it's the perfect colour for Christmas Day! I will also be receiving some new makeup products for Christmas so that it something that I am really looking forward too!

Since I go to visit different places on Christmas Day, I will need to bring a small makeup bag around with me, with a few essentials. The first thing which I will bringing is a small mirror which is always handy wherever you go! The second thing is powder and a powder brush. I have really oily skin so this is my most essential product to bring with me as I need this a lot throughout the day. Also, I will be bringing concealer as this will always be useful! Mascara is something that I don't usually need to top up during the day but is something I feel like I need to bring anyway. Lipstick is something I know I will need as I will be eating a lot and it will need re-applying again! Finally, a few brushes are quite important for me to bring, just in case!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and I am getting more and more excited for Christmas after writing all these posts! I haven't planned an outfit for Christmas Day yet but this is something I usually decide on the morning anyway. I will be back on Saturday with another Christmas related lifestyle post!
